I met a friend and fellow sleep-deprived mum for a much needed coffee and slice of cake at Comb cafe. The cafe was fairly busy on a weekday afternoon and we had 2 prams between us. We managed to have space for them beside our table and the staff were very helpful in helping us move them to an empty spot in the corner of the cafe.
I really liked this cafe, it was friendly and relaxed. Theres a note on the menu discouraging people from sitting all day on laptops which makes it more focussed on friends and families socialising which gives it a great buzz. Grace and I will definitely be back!
Buggy Space: 3/5
The cafe doesn't have loads of space, however I met a friend with a baby so we had 2 buggies and the staff were very kind and helped us move them to a free space in the back corner. If you have one buggy I think it would be ok to have it beside most of the tables. There is a small step into the door but the doorway is wide so if you pull your buggy in backwards, its fairly easy to navigate alone.
Children's amenities: 4/5
The cafe is a very relaxed atmosphere and I think children would especially like the bench seating in the window where they can watch the world go by outside. There is a few options for kids on the menu (see below) and high chairs available. When we visited I think one of the staff members children were in the cafe and were playing happily attheir table with toys and books. Its a very welcoming space for families.

Changing Facilities: 4/5
The changing facilities are in the only toilet in the cafe. Its a nice big changing table, rather than the usual dropdown wall mounted one. There's plenty room for a pram in the toilets if you need to bring it in and theres also a basket with spare nappies in it incase you are caught short.

Location & Transport Connections: 4/5
Comb is well suited for families looking to be near Bruntsfield links where there is a playpark and plenty greenspace. Its just a couple minuted walk from the links.
There is no car parking available and would be tricky to get parked close by, but its well served with regular busses outside, with numbers 11, 15, 16, 23, 36 and 45 stopping right outside, and 10 and 27 stopping further down the street at Tollcross.
