102 George St, Edinburgh EH2 3DF

We visited Fazenda on a Friday lunchtime with Grace. We didn't have a booking but its such a big space they could easily accommodate us. Very spacious for the pram and I like the relaxed eating style, being able to pop up to the salad bar or get more dishes during the meal so when I had to pop away to change Grace in the middle of the meal I didn't have to leave a plate to go cold or miss out!

I have visited Fazenda previously for dinner and it can get busy and be more of an adult space, but on this occasion I found it great with Grace and definitely recommend it for a lunch or early dinner with babies or children.

Buggy Space: 4/5

Fazenda is one of the most spacious venues Ive visited in Edinburgh, especially at lunchtime. The doors are heavy and definitely easier to get the pram in with a little help from someone else, but there are no steps and there is plenty space inside for the pram to be beside many of the tables. The staff gave us a round table in the middle and removed a chair to allow plenty space beside us.

Personally, I didn't feel too comfortable breastfeeding Grace here as we were right in the middle of the restaurant and due to the nature of the meal, servers visit your table quite often during the meal. However, staff did not make us feel uncomfortable at all, more just a personal preference, I prefer to be tucked away in a corner if I feed at the table. During our visit I popped to the baby changing and gave her a short feed, but next time I would probably bring a bottle so I could feed her comfortably at the table. There are a number of booth style tables that I think I'd be much more comfortable feeding at and I'm sure staff would have accommodated us at one of these table had I asked.

Children's amenities: 4/5

Fazenda has high chairs available and amazingly children under 8 eat for free! Its also a fun experience for children who can go to the salad bar and pick their own food an have the meats brought to the table. Its quite interactive so I think young ones would enjoy it. The meat is cooked rare by default but staff are always happy to bring more cooked options if you ask. The servers were really friendly with Grace and chatted to us about their own families too which made us feel very welcome.

Changing Facilities: 5/5

There are changing facilities are in the disabled toilet on the same level as the restaurant and the staff told us where they were on arrival. They were really clean with stainless steel changing table and was nicely decorated with low lighting and wooden walls which made for a very relaxed changing experience. Plenty space for a pram inside too.

Location & Transport Connections: 4/5

Depending on what you are looking for the location of Fazenda is perfect if you need somewhere baby friendly and city centre. However, there is not much in the surrounding area in terms of parks or play areas if you have little ones with you.

Pay and display parking is available on George Street right outside, or the restaurant is well served with the majority of city centre bus routes along Princes St or George St.
