We visited the Johnnie Walker Experience on a Friday afternoon with Grace. We didn't have a booking but we thought we'd pop in and see if we could do a tour. Unfortunately they don't allow babies or children under 8 on any of the tours at the experience so that was a bit of a shame, however they were more than happy for us to take her to the rooftop bar so we decided to stay for a drink. The views are amazing at the top so a great place to stop for a sophisticated drink when in the city centre.
Buggy Space: 3/5
The Johnnie Walker bar is very easily accessed with a pram with automatic doors on the street level and lifts up to the bar. Once inside there are quite a few tables where the pram would have plenty space beside them, but some places would be a bit more difficult to accommodate the pram. The staff were great in finding us a good spot and removing a chair to allow the pram to fit in nicely beside the table.
Children's amenities: 1/5
I'd say this bar and experience is definitely aimed at adults. The bar feels very sophisticated and I didn't think it would be well suited to bringing any loud little ones who might want to run around. There was another family with a baby in a pram, but I think best suited with young babies rather than kids.
Changing Facilities: 4/5
There are changing facilities available but I had to ask for directions as the bar is on the 6th floor and baby changing is only available on -1. The lifts are big and spacious though and once I got down to the basement the changing was spacious, clean and bright.
Location & Transport Connections: 3/5
Depending on what you are looking for the city centre location of the Johnnie Walker bar suits if you want to stop for a nice drink in town. However, there is not much in the surrounding area in terms of parks or play areas if you have little ones with you.
Parking is a little tricky to find nearby but its well served with a lot of bus routes down Lothian Road and along the West End, as well as being close by the tram stop.
