We dropped into Matto on a busy lunchtime around the festive period. We didn't have a booking and it was fairly busy however the staff were able to find us a table. It is a small place and we found, unfortunately, on this visit they weren't very welcoming of us having the pram. We were first offered us a table at the back where there was no space to get the buggy to the table so then when we asked whether we could use another table that was free nearer the front they seemed reluctant but agreed. The staff seemed to be a bit unwelcoming and blunt with us after this, but it was very busy with multiple other families there so perhaps this was more a reflection of how busy they were. We have visited Matto many times before we had a baby and never had any issues so hopefully it was just bad luck on this occasion, but I probably won't go back while we have a buggy. In the summer they have outside tables so I think that would be better as there is more space.

Matto is a small and busy little place. There were a couple of buggies in the restaurant on the day we were there but they do take up a lot of the space and there are very few tables where the buggy would be able to fit beside it.
Children's amenities: 1/5
As I mentioned above, the staff weren't very welcoming of our pram on this visit. However there were other families there so I think perhaps we just had a bad experience, but I cannot comment on other amenities.

I didn't get the chance to test the facilities on this visit.
Transport Connections: 3/5
There is no parking for the restaurant but there is pay and display parking available on the surrounding streets outside. It may be hard to get a spot very close by on some days due to how busy Morningside can get.
The bus connections are good in Morningside with the stop outside the restaurant serving busses 5, 11, 15, 16, 23 and 36.
